Nongfu Spring, a Chinese beverage company, recently bought land in Nashua, New Hampshire in a private sale—a move made possible by the GOP’s failure to pass a law banning the sale of important land to foreign buyers.
The company is building a plant that will draw its water supply from the city-controlled Pennichuck water system, sparking debate on the possible exportation of the local water supply and national security concerns.
