New Hampshire’s towns and cities have winter parking bans imposed to aid in snow removal and maintenance throughout the winter months.
Here’s how the bans look like in some major cities in the state.
Manchester
The Overnight Winter Parking Ban permits vehicles to be parked only on the odd numbered side of a street on odd numbered calendar months (e.g., January and March), and only on the even numbered side of a street on even numbered calendar months beginning after 1:00 AM and until 6:00 AM.
The ban runs through April 15.
Keene
Under a new parking law that went into effect this year, vehicles must be moved to off-street parking locations to allow for road maintenance operations such as snow plowing ONLY when a parking ban has been issued.
Residents can sign up for email and text notifications at keeneNH.gov/snow.
Concord
Overnight parking is allowed on all streets in Concord and Penacook, except from midnight to 7 a.m. during winter storm event parking bans, winter maintenance parking bans, and emergency parking bans.
Portsmouth
Parking bans are only in effect in the event of snow storms from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m., when parking in the downtown business area is restricted. Snow parking bans are announced through Smart911.
Nashua
During the declared hours of a snow emergency, all vehicles must be removed from city streets. Residents may park in the garages on High Street and Elm Street free of charge.
