Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” is sticking around—literally. The Vermont-raised, New Hampshire-educated singer-songwriter landed among Spotify’s most-streamed artists of 2024, with 100 million listeners embracing his raw, New England-infused sound.
Kahan was named one of Spotify’s most streamed artists of 2024. While Taylor Swift took the top spot, Kahan’s 2022 hit “Stick Season” landed at No. 10 on the most-streamed songs list.
Kahan’s hit 2022 album, also titled “Stick Season,” came in at No. 4 on this year’s list of most-streamed albums in the US, with Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” coming in at No. 1.
Kahan is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter who grew up in Strafford, Vermont, and graduated from Hanover High School in New Hampshire. He often sings about his depression, his home state, and his “rude” New England demeanor.
“I’m putting zoloft in your stockings,” Kahan joked to his followers on Instagram with a copy of his Spotify numbers last year. His music garnered 3.61 billion streams from 184 countries.
Kahan shared a video thanking fans on Spotify.
“If you’re listening to this message it’s because you went through something traumatic this year and decided to listen to my music,” Kahan said in the clip. “I really appreciate it. Obviously, sorry for whatever it is you’re going through. If you’re an emotionally stable person and you’re listening, I would consider listening to something else. But it means the world, every year, to see so many people listening to my music, in all seriousness. My music is for everybody and I appreciate everybody listening to it.”
