Students were late to class Monday morning in Hudson after high winds caused electrical wires to fall on a school bus.
“(The wires) came down with a branch,” Hudson Police Department Lt. Kevin Riley said. “From what I understood, the cable got wrapped around the side view mirror of the bus.”
The bus, which was stopped on Burns Hill Road at the time, was quickly untangled and nobody was injured, Riley said.
After the bus left, additional wires fell in the same area around 7:30 a.m. The police shut down the road while firefighters using electrical detecting equipment determined the wires to be live.
“It’s extremely windy and storm related,” Riley said, explaining there were many lines and cables down throughout the area.
Eversourse was called to the scene on a priority.
